I've got a Cycling Proficiency Award & a Swimming Survival Medal (Bronze Standard). I'm also told I have some nice reviews on Audible... but I'll never know because I refuse to look for them. User reviews over there are as varied and soul-destroying as YouTube comments. Other than that, I've had, "I could listen to you read the phone book!" and "You just made the script sound 100% more classy!"
It's all meaningless. Nice to hear, but meaningless. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

I feel very ashamed of myself right now but I swear at first I read "hair improvement loan".
For the record, Philip, you look quite dapper! That's a lovely suit on you. _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

Though I have had my share of nice feedback from clients I will not bore you with any of them.
the one comment that still sticks out in my mind was after a particular session. The producer said, "That came out better than I thought it would".

Hah! that one is from Smokey and the Bandit.
I recently did the first round of reads for a game that has more than 400 characters. Most have 6 lines and a death.
The Sound Designer wanted to see how much was possible in 3 hours.
Answer: 34 plus a Goddess who had a 40 lines and 3 spectacular deaths.
Client: Quote: | Seriously: you were so perfect to be first. Not only did you nail the voices, but the way you handled the client, worked your way through muses for each character.
I love you and what you do! |
Getting fan mail is always such a sweet surprise and pleasure. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Nice Deebs!
Oo I want to play!!
As my direction...
"Your voice is so perfect for this. I now write these with your voice in mind and have changed the style a bit to reflect your natural read since starting to work with you. Just do your thing."
And about passing me around within the company...

I'm sure this was never meant to be a compliment, but I take it as one. Upon meeting someone in person for the first time, someone who has previously only known me by the sound of my voice, I interpret the look of disappointment on his or (mostly) her face to mean the person thought I sounded so good that he or (mostly) she expected me to be better looking. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
