When a driver has the lettering from the rear licence plate of the vehicle in front on their forehead that is generally accepted as "too close"

I don't believe I have ridden with Liz at the controls. A new item for my bucket list.

Holy carp. Two nights in a decent hotel can cost more than a first class air ticket from the West coast. I gotta go first class. I love my knees too much. On my cross country trip last year even the skinny people were complaining about the leg room. Hmmm.

Frankly, I like riding with Liz at the wheel. Melissa, too. They are both excellent drivers and I'm completely comfortable with either. Melissa has the added benefit of having access to numerous free parking zones around Manhattan.

Oh Philip, that was so much fun! Though I admit at the moment it was happening I was less than sanguine.

Thank you Bob.

NYC driving is a finely choreographed dance - with no actual choreography. Call it automobile-improv. And it all revolves around the "you snooze you lose" principal. Decisive actions, split second reactions. And there's no such thing as too close. If a pedestrian can slip between you and the car in front of you when you're inching through the crosswalk on YOUR light, then you're not close enough.

Of course if you choose to take your chances with a yellow cab........

And Melissa's a great horn player. Gasp

But I agree with Bob. I feel perfectly safe riding with her. It's the cab drivers who are nervous. (And the ride is enhanced when you have Scott Gentle barking commentary from the trunk. cool )

Hi can someone post the URL of the Voice Over Cafe group on Facebook? I did a search and couldn't find it.

Also, will this be VO talent only, or will it include agents, producers, and casting directors?

Thanks

Phil

The Voiceover Cafe mixer took over where Erik Sheppard's Voice Talent Productions mixer left off. Erik's was a big affair with plenty of networking opportunities (well, some). The VOC one is really serving the VO community and those who got used to meeting up early in December. Basically a lot of drinking with a hundred or so of you best friends and some falling over. There will be others from the industry there (we invite everyone) but I wouldn't come with the expectations of getting "hooked-up".

This should get you to the event page.

The hotel in which I am staying in gives a nose bleed allowance because the bedrooms start at floor 37 and go up to floor 65.
