AVIATION BLVD
...Take it from me...this is an indication of what might affect your studio environment in a not so good manner. To the real estate agent..."Next listing please..!" |

I live on the southwest side of town, The US Air Force NATO training base is on the northeast side of town. They can be quite noisy on some mornings. _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

Although I have a full head of hair, I'm quite ribald. |

I live near the fight path of USMC MCAS Miramar. The fight path changed when the Marines took over from the Navy. Jen, Miramar is where the top gun school was and Cruise raced is motorcycle down the taxi way while an F14 raced down the runway.
Unfortunately the Marines don't always follow the flight path. We sometimes have several Ospreys or fighters in formation frying directly over our home. It so nice when the fighter jocks gun the after burner. And the Ospreys are noisy. _________________ Gregory Best

Even though we supposedly aren't in a noisy zone for flights to the airport in NE Portland according to maps I looked at, we definitely get moderate aircraft noise from time to time each day. Doesn't sound like it's anything close to what you're grtting, though, Greg.
We also get occasional scooter or motorcycle noise on our street. Unfortunately, none of them are Tom Cruise... _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

My home is fairly close to the incoming flight path of McGuire AFB, so there is the infrequent jet (or chopper) flyover. But those usually go by within 10 - 20 seconds.
What is really frustrating is that I'm also less the two miles from a municipal airport, and the slow, lazy droning of coming and going single-prop pleasure craft goes on for several minutes. On nice days, there can be several; one after another.
I dare say it may be time to invest in a booth. _________________ Mike

When I drive my new little bird (Gyroplane) over your homes I will try not to be too noisy, sorry folks. But I will smile all the time I am in the air.

I had a client whose studio was located where you see the red "X."

I forgot to mention that we are also a few miles from Gillespie Field in El Cajon, CA. It is a private aviation field that is encouraging business jets and touting no noise abatement requirements like the commercial air fields. They occasionally fly over too. Nothing like three Ospreys, followed by two USMC fighters and a Gulf Stream. _________________ Gregory Best

A friend of mine lives right near LAX. I mean - at the end of the block, cross the street and you're at the runway - near. A couple of years ago they put in new doors and windows. I have no problem recording there at all now. |
