Bish, if you had a cat, that box would be gathering cat hair. Wink

Nah... the cat would be sleeping in it... or maybe it wouldn't be sleeping... you never can tell for sure when a cat is in a box.

Yay! A physics joke Wink

I know, Bish...it's just that I was promised a box, and may want to store mine in it safely until after I finish a current project with my old mic (a USB Blue Yeti)... Laugh

My wife's been sick all day, and I'm making supper for us...I am itching to try this thing, but my daughters are going to be up for another coupla hours.

Just tested mine and, it sounds great...only one problem - I need to treat my closet some more because my noise floor on it is quite a bit higher than it was with the USB Blue Yeti. Oy!

Ahhh... there's the rub. The Yeti's own internal noise masked the ambient noise... now the CAD (with it's own extremely minimal self-noise) is free to quite clearly hear and report the stuff the Yeti was deaf to Smile

Damn this fixing a chain link-by-link... there's always a weakest link!

Seriously, the CAD is a fine mic with very low self-noise... you may want to play with some positioning as well as it's got a tight hyper-cardiod pattern. Also, I don't know how you "pop", but I found the CAD a tad more susceptible to popping if you don't have it off-axis enough. I think it's because it has a relatively open basket weave over the capsule. I use a metal mesh screen 3" off the front and ll is fine.

Have fun with it.

Congratulations on getting the CAD, Kevin! I know you've been wanting that one for awhile!

Warmest Regards,

Sean

So Peter, should I try getting closer to the mic like this brilliant top voiceoverist does right here? :

at around 3minutes 58 seconds?

I suppose following Phillip Banks' lead is never a bad idea, eh?

Nah... never believe anything that guy says. His prime motivation is to make all the competition sound like crap so he can snaffle up all the good gigs himself.

The good thing is that it's really easy to tell when Philip's feeding you a line... his lips move. Rolls Eyes
