VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

I am renting my current living and working quarters, and I'd like to have professionals clean the carpeting, but my concern is my studio furniture. Because of a hip injury, I would like to avoid, if at all possible, having to crawl around on the floor to disconnect everything. Several pieces of gear are in a low-profile rack, and there's AC and audio cabling on the floor. Plus, the desk cannot be moved out of the room unless everything is taken off of it and the legs are removed.

Does anyone have any experience with professional carpet cleaners handling your studio furniture? Are they able to somehow prop the stuff up for cleaning?

Any feedback/suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!

I've only had it done in my old house before I sold it. The cleaning crew moved everything. You can do it without moving stuff though. If you have a local store that rents the cleaning machine I recommend Bissell products. I've found them to be the most effective around.

Depending on how "dirty" the rest of the space is, you might want to consider a HYBRID approach. Pick up of the easily moveable stuff in the studio area. Let the professionals come in and do all the rest of your space, and the open, accessible pathways in your studio.

Then take your sweet time about getting to the carpet that is under the desk in your studio.... either with one of the rental units, or with a spray bottle and a good stout brush. Maybe with a little short stool to sit on and still reach the floor with one hand, you could spot-clean those hidden spaces for now.

Maybe go to Home Depot and get a roll of that yellow "Caution" tape and cordon off any areas you want the pros to stay away from and then let them have at the rest of the carpet.
