Of potential interest...

The other day (Thursday, October 10) was Giuseppe Verdi's birthday. I had heard that Bavarian Radio (BR-Klassik) was doing a Verdi marathon, so I tuned in.

I had often wondered which microphones they used in their studio. So I decided to ask them. Here's the response I got.

Short answer:

Neumann TLM-103 for announcers and interviews
Schoeps MSTC 64 stereo array for in-studio performances

die Mikrophone für Moderation und Aufnahmen von Interviews und Beiträgen sind in allen Studios von BR-Klassik von Neumann (Typ TLM 103).
Für kleine Stereoeinsätze nehmen wir das Schoeps MSTC 64.
