Right out of the gate I noticed that the first read on my previous demo (an upbeat young sounding read) was causing listeners to abandon the demo completely. So they weren't hearing anything compelling. I switched that spot with the next one, more of a suburban dad type of sound with SFX and no music, and that never happened again. People clicked and stayed, even thru the other young-sounding spot. Had I not known this I would have just kept the demo up there and never thought to change anything. I can also tell which targeted email recipients listened via the code, so I could then followup. Also found that occasionally a link from a past tweet gets followed - it's all breadcrumbs back to the demo. If they listen it's a win. If I don't know someone's listening I don't have as much ammo/reason to contact & followup. Everything remains "cold". _________________ Chris Mezzolesta, Voice Talent

What I learned is that my demo is currently working. The majority of people listen to the whole thing (both demos). Occasionally the drop after the first 3 spots, but I'd say these are the people who aren't digging my style for their current needs. It is great info, and I'm glad to know definitively that my demo is ok for now. |

Guys - Sorry I'm so late to this party. Looks like need yet another PUSH from this site to monitor. Not sure where things settled in here but you can use the ZamLink-to-Website "ZamSite?" feature for embedded players as well. Here's an example (i hope!): http://voicezam.com/public/examples/vzEmbed.html?m=15&p=123ABC
I'm sure a seasoned javaScript coder (which I am not) could clean this up futher, but it works OK and gets you where you need to be.
Regarding Zamtistics. You can get a much richer set of data by using the Download feature in the Zamtistics panel. Make sure you select Raw XML from the drop-down before downloading. The downloaded file will be in XML format. BUT, just open it in using Excel (as an XML table) and you'll be presented with much more related data—including the origin IP address. This can help you distinguish between unique and returning visitors.
This is super techy stuff and why I chose to hide it from the average VO user - it's overwhelming enough just to sift through the lists of data as is.
One aspect of VoiceZam's Zamtistics which is valuable but not readily apparent is the visceral incentive of knowing you've at least been heard. It's true, ATM we can't provide who, but we can offer a sort of "velocity" on your "heardness". And this is important to us who (let's be realistic) live in a commerce isolation bubble.
In many ways our industry is a numbers game, directly related to how much you've been heard. I would challenge you to watch closely how your month-to-month hit velocity is going and then find new and creative ways to increase those hits. I believe this can be a strong motivator to indirectly get and keep your voices out there. Then let each increasing month challenge you to revise your strategies and raise them even further.
Just my two peso for now.
