Hi Darren! Welcome aboard!
Your 416 and pre paring is going to be critical. The 416 likes clean uncolored gain with a little edge. The 737 is widely used as is the Avalon M5 with the 416. The 1073MBF is a Neve design which are musically colored and would not be a top 10 choice for most VO types.
Do a google search for 416 and voice over. Look for artists and the studio gear they are using. There isn't a huge diversity. Grace, John Hardy, Safe Sound are a few others.

The Xstream, while having IP support, was not designed to stream via Internet, but LAN only. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I'm just bummed that I was given a flat out NO for ISDN through my provider Fairpoint.
I like the Focusrite, but have had great results from my PreSonus USB as well.
The studio is MOTU and ProTools powered. But I do more than VO in there, so it may be overkill for most.
My studio build is on this board somewhere. _________________ Company, villainous company, hath been the spoil of me...

Just slightly concerned with one point that's slipped through. I use an Apogee Duet hooked up to the Mackie mixer. My system just grew like that. I am not using the very fine pre-amps in the Apogee as it's set to line input level and just doing DAC duty. The pre-amps are disengaged... as they will be if you connect a 737 pre-amp (if not, you'll be mixing both pre-amps and crossing the beams).
By all means buy the Duet for the interface and pre-amps, but forget the 737... or the other way around... get the stand-alone pre-amp of your choice and then buy an interface where you're not paying for another (redundant) set of boutique pre-amps... hence the love here for 2i2 or Onyx... $150 gets you a perfectly good DAC with very serviceable pre-amps if the 737 (or whatever) goes off-line for servicing or gremlins.
Others may disagree, but I don't see the point of paying for two sets of premium pre-amps when one set is going to be permanently unused. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish
