Welcome Zach!

My very favorite composer, and I also am a (former) tuba player.

I sense a trend developing. I, too, and a former tuba player.

Bruckner is great, but I gotta say, it's just a little weird all the Bruckner fans crawling out of the woodwork all of a sudden. Nice work, Zach!

Of course, I suppose naming your dog Bruckner is not in any way worse than me naming a former cat Milhaud… Wink

My brother performing Bruckner 8 in Japan with the Munich Phil - he was principal horn for them for about 25 year. He is with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra now.

OMG this thread is being hijacked by band and opera geeks

I dug ELO in the 70's, does that count?

That would mean he played under the legendary Sergiu Celibidache! That is beyond awesome!

Also great to see so many tuba players here. I'm not former. I still get paid to sit in the back row of an orchestra and make fart noises with my mouth through a 16ft brass tube. Gotta love it! And my day job is programming music for a classical radio station. I can't escape.

I'm married to a tuba player who used to be a band teacher and has performed in wind ensembles his whole life. Brass players don't talk to woodwinds, I learned that!
