I think I have echoed Scott's thoughts in several posts before.

Inexpensive mic's are just that inexpensive. Some have more self-noise that others mainly due to the type and specs of capacitors, FET's, and capsule. The Valhalla of microphones is, at present, unattainable. Find what works for your voice, in your studio environment, and with your other equipment.

Jeffery, good call on the noise floor. You beat me to the punch as I was about to post on what my ears heard with what your samples provided.
