I've noticed that Brits, and people from New York & New Jersey have a similar quirk in their dialects,...whenever a word ends with a vowel and the next word begins a vowel,..the preceding word will end with an "er" sound
An example from Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant;
"I SOOR a lion he was standing alone..." |

I've always wondered why that was so but it certainly makes sense though. Maybe singing is the best way to pickup on accent or dialect? _________________ Voice Talent

It's funny... as a Brit in the US, one of the things I have to deal with is the way that everyone feels obliged to try their Brit accent on me. Don't worry, I'm not talking about my professional voice colleagues here... your attempts are usually pretty good and mostly done looking for an honest opinion and an opportunity to get some constructive feedback... I'm talking about the guy in the bar who insists on calling out to me in a voice that sounds like the product of the unfortunate mating of Mick Jagger, Michael Caine & Ringo!
... and yet, put that same person in front of a Karaoke machine and they sound reasonably OK (as far as anyone can in the grips of an evil Karaoke* machine). It's a reversal of my original message... Americans sounding like Brits.
Singing may be the key I'm looking for!
*Karaoke is the tool of the devil and should be wiped from the face of the earth... before I get talked in to doing it! _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish
