2nd session yesterday, TV promos. At the end of the ISDN a few producers and Mark on the decks (innit though).
We got to a promo for a Biopic (movie about the life of someone as opposed to a myopic which is a short-sighted look at someone's life) and this was a promo made by Marta.
"I'll play it to you with the guide voice" said Mark. I listened. Marta voiced the guide track which was laid down to help in the edit.
"I don't why you don't simply leave it as it is, that was brilliant!" I said, I meant it too.
"It's the Italian accent" giggled Marta. It wasn't at all, it sounded great and her read fitted perfectly with the piece.
If she wanted, Marta could make a great living as a VO. Her life uncluttered by coaching, demos, seminars, 1001 experts is exactly what the market seeks ...HER. Personality, mood, energy, eye contact all perfectly centred in a voice.
Lets' change that
If YOU wanted, YOU could make a great living as a VO. YOUR life uncluttered by coaching, demos, seminars, 1001 experts is exactly what the market seeks ...YOU. Personality, mood, energy, eye contact all perfectly centred in a voice. |

If "The Iranian Double Pause" was book #1, you've just read book #2:
"Everything You Need to Know About Voiceovers" by Philip "Oop" Banks. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)
