After nearly turning blue trying to read an over written script I said to the producer.
"I can give you a better read but sadly not of this script".

I'm not going to post today's amazing script that came through an agency.
I will tell you this:
It's in a set of 4 spots for one client.
The :60s have 13-14 lines.
The ":30" has 11 lines. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Banksey.....that sundial photo and caption is hilarious. Don't knock it until you've tried it though. Are you offering the advice based on personal experience? _________________ TG2

Know why you (and I and others) get these scripts? Because clients have been hearing upcut, machine-gun-pace spots for years and figure "We've got to get all these points into the spot. Hey, we're hiring a pro, right? They can get it done."
Work a miracle once, then everyone expects it as the norm. (Why do you think Scotty always gave Kirk a grossly overinflated repair time?) _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

I don't know what the problem is with trying to get this spot down. Frankly, (no not that Frank) I thought it was easy. I kept in the "It's that simple" and managed to do it with plenty of emotion and come right in at :30.
I really think that clients deserve what they ask for......and this is what should be sent back.

A fairly regular client - high end luxury auto dealer - has started to add a few more words with every new spot. I'm using every trick in my book to keep them from sounding like they are selling used cars - instead of "pre-owned"!

Connie,
Yes! I'd like to know too. It was in this thread:

Connie: I am surprised you need to ask...
et al: The answer is simple. Talk softer... don't try to yell or make it loud... just mic according to your voice's volume. Now this is not a whisper... just not as LOUD... this way you get a "full bodied" sound, just not the volume.
Using this technique takes time to master, but once you have done so - the speed of the copy you are reading will increase and you may easily knock off four or five seconds from long copy without sounding rushed.
The "VO Technique Handbook" is coming... LOL (or, is that Voice Talking?)
Toodles
