I won't ask. I'll just assume you either politely asked him to leave or had to lure him off the property with peanut butter canapes. |

This is "the country", so we do things a little differently.
I gave him a six pack, a cherry pie and a bus ticket. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Yes, Melissa you are completely bonkers -- borrowing from Alice:

What a sweet story Melissa. I loved it. I try to take critters back outside when I can. Except it's hard to negotiate with a mesquito, or ants in the kitchen ! _________________ Intuit and do it!

Melissa, based on your story for inspiration, I tried reasoning with a fly I couldn't see, but could definitely HEAR. I was trying to record something and every time I got close to the end of the take he would start buzzing, fluttering, whatever he was doing. At first I was yelling (I'm not really sure what good I thought THAT would do, but it made me feel better at the time), but then thought of you and decided to ask him nicely to please stop making that racket long enough for me to finish (I assured him it wouldn't be long). At first that seemed to work, until I got to that same part on the second take...UGH! Oh well...I tried! _________________ Back into the murky lurk from whence I came

You have to be sincere, Fran.
They can tell.
Ok guys, stop slowly backing off. I can see you. |

I'm way late to this thread but I loved reading everything. Melissa, what a sweetie you are. I'll never look at a cricket again without thinking of you.
Glad it all worked out well for you. _________________ Lisa |
