sounds good on both of you.
I had a CAD but didn't really like it on me. I thought on my voice it sounded
too heavy and over-saturated, but maybe I was driving my pre too hard, who knows? Or maybe it's better through a solid state pre (versus my tubes)
At any rate, I like it for both of you. Are you running it with or without the low-cut switch?
Ya gotta love that the CAD is made in the good ol USA, very reasonably priced, and built like a tank.. Plus it looks ....cool..... |

Everything's flat on the mic... but I am using the 75Hz (18db/oct) "Low Cut" on the Mackie's input. I've always found it does the job without making any difference to my sound (not that I have a deep voice anyway). Whenever I've used other Hi-pass filters, I can hear the slightest "thinning" effect.
I'm currently experimenting with the dbx286a... it seems to like it. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

That sounded just lovely. One might even say, refined
Seriously, apart from my audiobooks where I'm still perfectly happy with my SM7B, the e100s has become my go-to. I've reverted to using just the channel input on the Mackie VLZ3. The 286a was just fine, but didn't seem to bring anything extra to the party... especially as I do all my signal processing (if any) on the computer and had everything on the dbx flat. I'm all for as few connections and steps in the signal path as possible, so dbx removed.
Hmmm... as it's a "Made in the USA" mic, maybe I should counter with something in an American accent... that ain't gonna happen though. Be grateful _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Peter and Lance, I think you both sound excellent on the CAD e100s! Thanks for posting your samples. _________________ Best regards,
