Ballenberg

Not a problem, I knew you weren’t point a finger at me. Many of use have definite ideas about what is best regarding this or that gear, space and best chili.

Then some have a more mellow way, chili is chili.

I truly have gotten to the point, no wait I have always been at that point, I have never given a rats xss about stuff.

I come back to my early day (49 years ago) in construction learning for my father and other craftsmen where I learned, it has never been about the GEAR it has always been about the SKILL.

This is a good crew.

Peach (Peace) Brothers and Sisters (You have to read it can’t trust spell Check)

Scott where are you when I need you.

Goodness me, look what I started Embarrassed Oh well, the spirited debate did provide some very interesting information.

I decided to give blackout window panels a shot. I'd read that they are also useful for noise reduction and the reviews on Amazon seemed to back that up.

I've found that they have, in fact, lowered the outside noise. More than I expected they would, actually. If a neighbor decides to cut his grass, I'll still have to wait to record, but other things, like birds singing outside my window, are cut out.

One problem is that they do, as the name indicates, cut out all the light. I may get more for my bedroom for that purpose because they're very effective. In my office, however, I want the outdoor light to come in when I'm not recording, so I fashioned a way to easily pull them back and forth into the desire position. I also hung some other fabric panels I had on the walls and built a sound proofing box for my computer. It feels and sounds like a new room. I'm going to get a large area rug and I think I'll be in fairly good shape.

I may just do the dance of joy!

Great way to go Joniv.

I like you description of creating a way to allow light into the room when not recording.
