I have no idea when I will reach that magic day, because not only is there no math in voiceover, but I am in a chocolate stupor from Philip's wonderful gift package.

I don't know where I was when this stash of UK candy was being passed around. So...yesterday I took the girls over to World Market and picked some up over there.

We had to pretend it was from Philip and led our own session right there in the store on sending gifts to special clients.

I'm surprised you missed the British sweet feast as I specifically instructed Amy how to treat the treats.

Where the Faffers would find snacks and drinks between sessions she should display the goodies on plates or salvers, where appropriate on beds of crushed iced so that all could graze at their leisure.

Translated into fluent Snivelese that became "Aw **** it, leave it in the cardboard box!"

The above was my Faffcon session .... "Are you REALLY able to spot an opportunity?" ....If you have eaten a Jelly Baby or other British piece of yumminess recently the answer is ........Mmmmmmmmyessir!

Oh Philip, we so tried to get the treats from box to festooned and beiced salvers, but salivating Faffers made the task impossible in short order. We shall be more covert in presentation preparation in future if you so grace us again.

From my vantage point of about ten feet away, it seemed that the British sweets (I still have trouble calling it "candy") evoked another great Brit tradition... the rugby scrum. My minimal schoolboy sporting experience was put to good use and I blagged some Jelly Babies... I was actually taken down by someone (who'd obviously been watching the All Blacks) when I reached for a Crunchie Cry

They were announced towards the end of the festivities, at which point I knocked over 60 or 70 people as I reached in and removed the purple (grape) Jelly Babies, as well as some other items . Given that we had all been stuffing our faces with petites four and five, along with a rainbow assortment of chips and dips, it was not surprising to see that many hands grasped at the delightful assortment of British confections, not so subtly labeled "not for resale" and then placed said goodies into all manner of pocket, pocketbook, Faffcon bag or other means of conveyance.

The next morning, several Faffers were found passed out in their rooms beyond checkout time, lying in a pile of candy wrappers and retail commercial scripts.

It was a fitting end to 3 days of lobby bar drinking.

I was beyond thrilled to snack on those Jelly Babies after experiencing them in Hersey last year.

*Sidenote: Did you know there is Beef Extract in them?

Oddly it makes the jelly... gel. The alternative is some odd chemical/plant extract which to a veggie type person seems healthier but I'm told the side effects include, make your bottom fall off in a high wind, turns your teeth to flock wallpaper and makes you speak Hindi yet hear in fluent Polish. Percentage is low single digit.

Yet another thing I missed on Sunday. Shall have to endeavor to be well next time I am in the vicinity of British Candy. Smile

I was wondering why I was having so much trouble keeping my bottom from falling off during the whale watching trip.

Lack of Beef Extract in my diet.
Mystery solved!

note to self: you can substitute beef extract in a recipe when you're out of gelatin ( extracted from the skin, boiled crushed bones, connective tissues, organs and some intestines of animals such as domesticated cattle, chicken, and pigs --> thanks, wikipedia)

mmmmm tendons! ligaments! adipose tissue! oh my!
