Yep. Been waiting for THIS paycheck to arrive for about a month now.
UPS had to deliver it since it weighed about 20 lbs and stood about 4' tall.
It was my new Breedlove guitar. The company hired me to voice a batch of videos for them on their website, which you can find here:
http://breedlovemusic.com/breedlove/the-shop
... and I jokingly said I'd be happy to take payment in the form of a new guitar (I'm an avid guitarist of 40+ years). They were NOT joking when they said "Okay, let us know which one you want" (within reason of course; something close in value to the v/o).
It arrived today and it is SWEET! Passport Plus C250/C0.

Congrats Scott! That's the kind of paycheck you can enjoy for a long long time. _________________ "Bailey"

Oh my...that is a lovely guitar. And just in time for Christmas!
We actually got my husband an electric guitar for Christmas from an audio place that was recommended here on the forums. VO Guitars all around.
The GC picture really doesn't do it justice though - can you post any larger photos? _________________ Kendra Hoffman

Nice! Quasi-related, I just finished narrating Bob Taylor's book on ACX and he talks about Larry Breedlove in it. I think Larry works for Taylor again (after selling his interest in the Breedlove Guitars), but his imprint is certainly still there.
How does it play? Wish I could have bartered for a Taylor! |

That's sweet Scott. I've played some of their acoustic bass guitars. Very nice.
Sure wish I could have done a biography on Greg Curbow. My favorite bass builder....unfortunately, he's not longer around to build. Google him....gorgeous basses. My personal holy grail. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

LOL... I keep saying I want to do some v/o for Porsche so I can work a barter with THEM!
I happen to also have a Taylor (and a Paul Reed Smith Tremonti SI electric). There's a ton of difference between the Breedlove and the Taylor, but there is also about $2000 price difference, too. The Breedlove is super light and has a wonderful, crisp sound. The Taylor is noticeably denser with a very full tone. What I like about having this Breedlove now is that it can become my 'on-the-road' guitar for when I really don't want to tote an expensive, heavier guitar like the Taylor. The neck action is similar on both, also. The Breedlove's neck seems a trifle thinner, but the action on both is sweet. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Oh, and have any of you musicians heard of the Chapman Stick?
I had one of THOSE, too, a few years back. Bought it for $1200, learned how to play it - sort of- then sold it a year later for $1800 on ebay. I need to turn more deals like that! _________________ Scott R. Pollak

You learned to play the stick? I bow to you Sire! Tough instrument.
I tap a little on the 6 string basses......really just wanking though.
BTW - Nice turn around profit! _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Loves me some Tony L! Duct tape some drumsticks to your fingers and play the bass. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.
