By the way, did a load this am and for the first time I rinsed out my lint trap. Who knew? The VO-BB, serving the public interest!

Dryer lint is enormously combustable-- the last thing we need in our homes is MORE places for it to accumulate. Especially places that are hard-to-reach.

Does this also apply for Navel lint?... only if it's hard to reach?

Only if you're in the Navy, find a navel destroyer, or a lint "tap" on a submarine combined with screen doors...

My dryer exhausts to the roof since it's in the middle of the house and last year leaves from a nearby tree dramatically restricted the output of the vent chimney on the roof. The heat had nowhere to go and the lint in the back of the dryer caught fire. Luckily we were home and extiguished it with a spray bottle of water, but we often leave the house with machinery running, thinking all will be safe. Yikes.

A de-linting of the inside of your machine and exhaust ducts ain't a bad idea every couple of years.

We use liquid softener. Tested the lint trap. It was clean. Heck, a river runs through it.
