Might investing in an Echo AudioFire 2 be a worthwhile upgrade to my trusty Echo Mia PCI sound card? The Mia was being a bit flaky recently, though that seems to have passed. Overall I am pleased with my sound, but I'm always looking to improve wherever I can.

PC, Win 7 32-bit, I use Sound Forge. George was helping me on this, thinks it's a driver issue, but it seems to have gone away. Not sure how to explain this - I'd record a file, and then it would seem to s-l-o-w down upon playback - like I recorded in 16 bit and it sounded like it was suddenly it converted to 24-bit. Closing and re-opening didn't help, nor did restarting. Happened 4-5 times, then went away.

It was switching sample-rate mid stream sometimes, Tom told me.
