Hi to all, I've recently been recommended your site so thought I'd register and say Hi.
I've working in broadcasting on and off in the UK since the 90's and recently been doing a few voiceovers, mainly in the UK but 1 or 2 in the USA.
My latest promo is on youtube at its not the typical deep voice US style but the style that a lot of UK people are looking for now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPLnnkyb5_8
Thanks

So James, what does this say about you?
To me its say that if James does not care enough to include sharp, in focus images of his own studio -in his own promotional material- why would I think he would put any more care into the material that I would be paying him for?
I was out by :30. _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

Thanks Mike,
I agree with the 2 pictures with blur, and you will not believe how annoying they are to me. All looks good on screen until they upscale to HD when exporting the video. Its the first export of video and they are on my list to take again and change in the video over the weekend along with one other thing that I've noticed.
I'm pleased it was the only thing you spotted as the weekends list of tweaks remains small

I'm afraid it won't work on this side of the pond and most likely won't wow the people you're trying to reach on your side either. The first minute was kind of a haphazard commercial for you. No one in radio, TV, or advert agencies wants to hear that. They want to hear you doing commercials for others. If the demo is all about you they're going to think you have way too big an ego to deal with. And absolutely get rid of the reverb! That hasn't been seriously used for radio stations or commercials for over 30 years over here.
I suggest you listen to dozens and dozens of demos from top voice talents in the UK and here before you try this again.

You failed to note that I stopped listening after 30 seconds.
There are so many thing wrong with this video-- if it's meant to be a DEMO, or even as a promotional device. _________________ The Blog:
