I almost had to cancel 'cause there was a chance that my vacation request at work might not be approved. We're early in production on three big projects, and as the key support/development person for the animation team, it sucks when it comes to requesting time off when things are busy. Thankfully my boss approved the time, but I have to be on-call (phone and email) the entire time I'm gone.

I'd love to be there for the Thursday fun, but I've decided to take the insane...er...scenic route and drive from Dallas to Atlanta. Smile

A hair over 12 hours. I plan to eat up a few hours of that on Thursday night after work, then get a hotel and finish the drive on Friday.

I'm arriving Thursday but will be spending that night at a cheaper place by the airport (this *would* be the week that my sister would be out of town on a cruise...grumble...grumble...). But I do think there's a good chance I can find the Westin bar by Thursday evening! I'll pass on the Aquarium, as I just went there over the summer, but I definitely recommend it. If you have little ones in tow, they'll love to pet the rays and sharks (really) and the somewhat cheesy 3-D movie (a knock-off of Finding Nemo--the main character is Deepo, and it was funded by a large hardware store--see if you can catch the product placement: "Is this your home, Deepo?").
