I addressed this by simply using Aux Out to go to the Skype PC... ANY Channel sent to Aux will go to Skype...
Quote: | Also, Amy uses a separate machine for her editing needs, which also runs Skype during her recording sessions and is located in another room (I believe for sound isolation). |
Same thing, if Aux out is used on the recording PC, then Amy ought to be able to playback with the same PC and that audio can be sent to Skype. All recording programs have the ability to play back audio.
Quote: | Lastly, the RCA jacks are only used to feed audio from the monitor to Skype. I know that RCA is consumer-grade, but easily will carry a high-enough quality signal for a telephone or VOIP conversation. |
True, but the monitor outs should be used for the monitors.
Quote: | The reason for using the headphone jack on the M is simply that it has no monitor or line out. Amy could just as easily use her second MobilePre and its regular line outputs, but indicated she preferred the quality of the M . |
No need for the extra connections that can degrade the audio quality.
Quote: | In the end the audio quality of the recorded track is not affected by the mixer, as the sound goes from mic to M to disk, then once the session is done the files are transferred to another machine and worked on. The final product has very few components in the chain used to produce it. |
Mic to Mixer to Recording PC is just as simple and removes the M as Amy had wanted to do... _________________ Does life start at 40? |

I agree. I didn't realize the ZED-10 only sent to one channel instead of the main mix. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

By the way, Kasey- thanks for taking the time to look at it and come up with a simpler solution. I sent amy a message and she indicated that when she wasn't utterly slammed with Faffcon and other work we'd take some time to reconfigure things.
At the moment, it works well, so that's a good thing. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

As long as it gets the job done, that's the cake.. refining the process is the icing... _________________ Does life start at 40? |

Will throw in adaptor to work with iPhone/Android/Blackberry phones.
George | I just purchased the Daptor2 and cannot find the correct adapter from the 2.5mm male connector to the 3.5 female input on my IPhone4.
May I ask where you found the adaptor and what brand/model # it is.
I have been searching high and low and finally discovered this forum |
