Could be a hoax... yes.
And there's also the possibility that the guy actually has a great voice, but decided to finance his VO dream with a unique marketing plan that doesn't cost him a cent.

I'm rooting for him. But if this ends up launching a massively successful career, I might drink hard for the next couple of years then relaunch near a southbound 405 offramp with a bag of oranges and a stack of demos.

I just think it's a cool story/video. Nothing more. If it's true, then may he get back on his feet (in or out of radio.) If it's not true, then... bravo! Either way, it's still a good story.

It's not fair, but then life isn't fair. Do you know how much time I genuinely spend monitoring the careers, successes and failures of other Voiceoverists? Not much. I do tend to know what my friends are doing but that's because I care about them.
