I need advice on rates for an internet commercial VO. The spot is 30 seconds. The client wants to buy me out for National use on the net for 2 years..

I've never bid on an "internet -only" spot.

Can anyone give me any thoughts tonight?

Mark

3 x your session fee for 1 year. adjust accordingly.

BTW - no such thing as "National" on the web. Now if it's a national network TV spot moved to the web, that's another thing entirely. But made-for-web is recommended at 3xsession fee or get what you can get and either pass or not.

If the client has offered a "National Buy-out" on an internet commercial he clearly has no idea what he's doing. The nature of the internet is, within reason, anything, anywhere unless he is restricting access to the commercial in some way. I have been paid from around $40 to $3,500 for internet content so the target range is wide.

How is the commerical going to be distributed/transmitted on the internet? How many people are likely to see the commercial. Bottom line is that you have not been given enough information to come up with a realistic price.

How much is a car? Errrrr what type?
Oh sorry...and American car..How much is an American Car? ...Come on..hurry up..Price please??? Laugh

That American car will run you $18,643.67 complete charges (add $2.17 if you want one of those pine tree thingy air fresheners)

Please send payment immediately to my PayPal and we'll get your car right off to you.

Thanks for the help guys. The "3x" formula sounds about right. I'll be grateful for any other input.
