|
|
So I recorded some stuff with Pro Tools but I want to make a few simple edits on my laptop while sitting at Starbucks with a triple venti latte using Audacity... but I can't figure out how to make a simple slice/cut/edit/split at the cursor. In Pro Tools you position the cursor and tap B and the file is divided. What the heck am I missing? Your help in this matter will earn you a place in heaven (as if I had any say in it). |

You should be able to click and drag to highlight the area you want to cut. You can zoom in to the wave form the select the closest possible time stamps for your start and end points. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

I was hoping that there was a way to cut the region at the cursor, but my hopes are dashed. Click and drag adds a few steps that I was hoping to avoid.
Thanks for edifying me. |

select what you want to keep, and use the duplicate function, it will create a new track with that info, you can then do whatever with the original. |

What if all you want to do is break the region into two? |

select one part you want to keep, go to Edit>Split, and viola! it doesn't work if you just place the marker, you have to select one region, then split.
