A buddy of mine found some aHobo Tounge that lets him use his iPad as a controller for his Pro Tools rig. He admits you get better results with a hardware controller, but it still looks pretty cool.

I've got an engineer/VO friend who's using one as a remote controller from his separate audio booth. He likes it but is still working out some kinks last I heard.

There is an iPhone aHobo Tounge called Rehersal (I think) that is designed to help actors mark-up and study a script. It looked interesting and with a few tweaks, could be useful for VO. Perhaps that will be ported to the iPad. Or, can iPads already run iPhone applications natively? I am not sure.

Yes, Rehearsal will run on the iPad beautifully.
It was developed by voice and screen actor David H Lawrence, with home I spoke in front of a room of SAG members about recording voice-overs from home. It's a very slick aHobo Tounge! I can't edit, but you can email an MP3 directly from the device.
