For those of us who like Adobe Audition, here's some good news for Apple users.

I use AA 3 on a PC. I've admired Macs from afar for years. Is Mac the better platform for recording?

Since we don't want to get into a "which platform is better discussion", let me summarize what I think is the common wisdom. In the earlier days of digital audio/video recording, Mac had an edge over PC based machines and software, but in recent years PC based setups are usually considered on a par with Macs. It's down to a "which is a better pickup truck, Ford or Chevy" kind of argument now, but we're not about to slap a decal of Calvin (of Hobbs fame) peeing on a PC logo on the side of our Macs or vice versa....

I still wish they hadn't ditched the feature that let you highlight a section and play it, while it was highlighted. Saved a ton of time when editing on the fly.

Hi Joe. I have and use AA3 and it still has that capability---but they got rid of right click silence which came in handy to remove errant pops and clicks on a wave file. Always respected Apple but it seemed very cost prohibitive at least for me.

I didn't quite explain that well enough I don't think. The feature they ditched was being able to highlight a section of VO by right clicking and holding down your mouse, while hitting spacebar and playing said audio almost simultaneously without having to unclick. It was useful for being to "test" an edit before commiting to it. Now you have to unclick the mouse and commit to a certain highlighted area before you can play.
