I hear ya, at 6'-6" most stands are just to short.

So I had to make one from a studio light stand.

LOL.

Man Hassle stands are garbaggio. They're great if you're in a 4th grade band class in Dubuque in 1954. They might be state of the art in North Korea.

That said, I use one and hate it. Definitely the next piece of gear I need to replace.

I added a kitchen table placemat to mine instead of a carpet sample. It matches the colors of my studio and fits the copy stand very nicely all the while killing any ringing sound from the previously naked metal. Add a large clip style paper clip to the top to hold it or scripst in place.
