I just completed an entire audiobook and now I'm afraid I may have been saying "Nguoi Rung" incorrectly. But for the life of me, I can't find a pronunciation online. It's Vietnamese. Anyone know?
I've been saying it NOO-ee Rung. _________________ Jeff

This takes me back a ways but here goes:
Nguoi
Ng - like 'ng' in "sing-along": Nga.
u -like 'oo' in "hoop": Na Uy.
ô - like the first component of the diphthong 'ow' in "low": á-lô.
i - like 'ee' in "see" or "deed": pin.
= ng-oo-O-ee
Rung
Seems correct.

Are you sure about that, Frank? Everything I've seen the "ng" sound is nuh. As in, the g is silent. Example "NGUYEN" is pronounced nuh-WEE-ihn _________________ Jeff

When I lived on Guam and made TV guy jaunts into SE Asia the name Nguyen was like "Jones" or "Smith". We had a translator of the same name and we called him "Winn". Actually, "Winnie". _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

There was a guy who played for the Dallas Cowboys named Dat Nguyen and he also pronounced it "Win." _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Stopped in at a Vietnamese restaurant and apparently my original Noo-ee Rung was pretty correct. _________________ Jeff
