You need a billboard with some cops sitting in a parked cruiser behind it, eating doughnuts.
Set the mic at about a 30° angle, so that you are not addressing the capsule square on, and this should take care of some if not all of the sibilance.
Something like this:
You might consider a preamp with a little more body and color. _________________ The Blog:

One more vote for the raw file. Natural smoothness.
I think the overall sound you're getting out of it could be a bit fuller... Any new mic will take a little getting used to. _________________ Scott Reyns, voice talent serving major metros (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York) and beyond |

I have not read the other replies yet, as I didn't want to be influenced by them.
I thought it sounded thin, lacking in warmth, no low end. I am listening through a decent pair of Event studio monitors, by the way - not crappy laptop speakers (which is more like how you would be listened to in the real world...). Perhaps you needed to be a bit closer to the mic?
Has this been EQ'd at all? It was crisp and clean. I'll read other comments now and may need to revise my comments based on what else you have to say. _________________ Best regards,

Yes, it does work, though it can be a little temperamental. It's a "Lifetime Model 6", out of Toledo Ohio. _________________ The Blog:

I voted "sounds like poo" just because you don't get the chance to choose that every day. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Thanks, Lance!
Ok, I changed the mic position, put up a gobo, and now I'm getting P's so popped, they could hurt someone! Still tweaking... _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

As a producer, who has hired several people from this board, I think it sounds fine. I produce commercials and would add some presence and compress your voice, so I'm always happy with a neutral sound.
Best mics for different projects based on my 30 years experience:
Commercials & promos - Sennheiser 416
NPR style narration - Neumann U87
Audio books- Shure SM7B
Experiment all you like, but those are the tools for serious work.
Lovely voice by the way! _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Amy,
Your head is perfect just like it is. And your audio sounds mighty spiffy to me. _________________ Be well,

I think it's slightly better, but still sounds thin. I wonder what you'd sound like projecting less and getting a little closer to the mic. (Maybe the C1 doesn't have much proximity effect - I used to have one, but sold it because it sounded thin on my voice too!). _________________ Best regards,
