On a radio promotion tour, Faith Hill once banged her head into an RE20. Supposedly it didn't hurt as much as would've been the case with the RE27. _________________ Regards,

Thank you! Much better example than Rush Limbaugh...(for males at least.) Not only is she cute, she may be the only country artist that doesn't make me throw radios out of windows. _________________ Mandarin Chinese Voiceovers & Localization

I was thinking about going to Guitar Center and banging my head into an assortment of mics as a 'shoot out.' _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

I go with a e935 for a dynamic mic. The new Blue dynamics and the Telefunken M80 are good too. Only need 50db gain tops for quiet narration, smooth and has that bright airy top end without being brittle like a Heil. Whenever I switch to it for a certain job for my clients they love it. It's the only mic I've really gotten complements on for corporate work.
Now, mind you, I'm using it with the Speck 5.0, which is a great preamp for dynamics. That's when you notice the advantages of a good preamp; with a nice condenser, not so much. The e935 sounds okay - fair to meh - just into the board or an interface or okay preamp. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

I second the "hmmm..interesting".
I never tried the E935 itself, but the other mics in the evolution series never really blew me away. There was one that was equivalent to an SM57, but not as cost effective. _________________ Mandarin Chinese Voiceovers & Localization

My "Tom Waits for No One" song in the Entre-Nous section was e935 into the Speck. The e935 and the e945 (hypercardioid) are the good ones, the lower ones are okay (like the e835).
I bought mine after hearing a couple of pieces from noob talent that were just shoving it into their MBox and it sounded good...so I figured I could get it to sound even better (in theory). Anyhow, way way better than my failed Heil PR40 fiasco and miles better than the MD421 mkII (again, blech). _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Did they then hit her with the RE 27 and ask which hurt more? If not, how would one know which would hurt worse? _________________ Does life start at 40? |

Oh yea! It was the 835 I was thinking of. Many people were giving it high praise. It seemed about the same as my Samson Qmic or AT Mbk, which are both cheapies. Although, I did only try it through a Behringer desk at the time...maybe my whole opinion is flawed. _________________ Mandarin Chinese Voiceovers & Localization
