A few weeks ago I contacted the producers of one of my favorite podcasts, and offered to record a tag for the show containing all the contact info that they always repeat at the end of every episode. In their reply, the husband in this husband-wife podcasting team explained that their reaction upon reading my message was, "We should bite his hand off!" (Thankfully he further explained that in the UK, this term meant that they were eager to accept my offer.) I recorded and delivered the tag, and was pleased to hear it in use in the next episode.
Fast forward to this morning, when I received an email from the husband. He explained that he also produced another podcast (of which I was already aware), and asked if I'd be willing to record some quick liners for it. "I was wondering what it would cost me to get you to work your vocal magic on these short clips?", he asked. "I'm more than willing to pay."
Considering that he had "bitten my hand off" in response to my original offer, I felt it was only fair to return the gesture. _________________ Justin S. Barrett

This only worked because the free one was so good, they couldn't live without more!
Congrats Justin. _________________ http://MichaelSchoen.com |

Congrats Justin!
I think I'll try that with the Encyclopedia Britannica people...read all of "A" for them for free and then watch them snap me up for the rest!
OK, here we go:
"Aardvark, a stocky African mammal found south of the Sahara Desert in savanna and semiarid areas. The name aardvark—Afrikaans for 'earth pig'—refers to its piglike face and burrowing habits...."
How'm I doin' so far?

Bruce,
Encyclopedia, phone book, pretty much anything. You read it and I will love listening. So will lots of other people. Some of them even have money to send you. _________________ Be well,

You're not at Kafer's place, are you Moe? (see his comment above)
Thanks for the comments. It's probably not a true WWPBD (What Would Philip Banks Do) moment like I imagined that it would be, but I'm happy with how the experiment worked out. The best part of it all is that he paid me yesterday afternoon...before I recorded and delivered the lines last night. If only more clients were that way. _________________ Justin S. Barrett
