old TV antenna stuck in the maple tree -- been meaning to get to this for a while - finally tackled it today.
hauling the angle grinder up
cutting the rotor bolts
yankin' it off
unbolting a section of tower
pretty much went like that all the way down. unbolt a section - lower it down - only a couple of scary parts!

Oh heck no. You are nuts. Since you like climbing those things I know a radio tower that needs a new paint job. You in? _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

I've never seen a home antenna like that before in my life. I can't imagine climbing it! Isn't that something you pay someone to do? Well done, but yer nuts! _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

I could almost see you batting away the biplanes as they buzzed you from above.....

amy - the towers are pretty common around here. pre-cable, anyway. the NBC affiliate is 60 miles away - the CBS station is close to 75 miles & with all the hills reception is iffy if you don't get your antenna up pretty high. taking it down was one of those things i said i'd do when we bought the house (almost 5 years ago) and just got around to it. i DID have a belt on - so ... safety first! - oh and donna - it was rockin' pretty good! _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis
