Just heard the sonic boom (and it was loud!) of the Space Shuttle landing.

I really need to keep up with what's going on cuz I heard it and it scared the pee out of me. I thought someone bombed my home. Then looked on the 'net and realized it was the shuttle.

When I was in the Air Force, I worked for a while in the Public Information Office.
When civilians would call to complain about sonic booms in the area, we would send them a pamphlet entitled "The Sounds of Peace".
This, I guess was supposed to make them feel better about their cracked windows, broken china and near heart-attacks.
