VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

I have just started my new blog (http://brbvo.wordpress.com) and was wondering what the etiquette is for adding links to all the other specific VO associated blogs to my own blog. Don't want to add links without permission, and assume it's OK. My motivation for the blog is to hold myself accountable (kind of like a diary) that helps keep a record of my progress while keeping me focused on my new business.

I am new in the VO business, and would like to get started off on the right foot. Sure I have been in the Broadcasting and Radio business for over 20 years, however I do realize the VO business is a different vocation that requires a whole new set of skills.

Bill,

You do not have to ask permission to link to someone else. If you wish to, you can ask someone to link back to you, but there is no obligation even if you've linked to them.

I've just added your blog to my blogroll, since I have as one of my stated goals for my voiceover blog to have a link to every other extant voiceover blog. My best to you.

Wow Bob, funny that you should be the one to respond, it was about a month ago that I found a Podcast that you were interviewed on that inspired me to start my Blog. Thank you for you answer.

Only case where I can think of where someone for some reason wouldn't want you to link to them, they may contact you and request to be removed, in which case (on Wordpress) you can just check the option to "keep this link private" so you still have it for reference.

I've been "blogging" since '99 (although I called it a "newsletter" back then) and there was only one time I was ever asked to remove a link and it was because the site had frames and I had deeplinked a subpage from the site outside of the frames.

But I rarely see professional sites that use frames anymore. You don't want your visitors to feel trapped in your site.

And I don't think I've even mentioned it here yet since it's one of very few of my online activities that doesn't involve VO, but I started a personal blog last year as a creative outlet. It's mostly a photo blog and where I've been archiving capsule movie reviews I used to post on other sites. Anything else is just random -- whatever I feel like writing about:
