Glad to hear that unit worked out for you!
How long a firewire run are you using?

I hear the Onyx line has fantabulous pre-amps.

Zach, can you use the 820i to play back and record at the same time?

Caryn, if you use the Zephyr as a phone patch - is there a phone mode you have to switch to?

George,

The wire run was about 33 feet. I used a Belkin firewire hub as a repeater. I also used an active repeater for the usb cable. The DVI needed one as well. All the cables I am using are Tripp Lite. The DVI repeater is a Tripp Lite piece as well.

Melissa,

I haven't tried to use it that way yet. I will get back to you as soon as I have a chance to try it. I am running Twisted Wave on my Mac and I was just about to pick up Pro Tools M Powered since it interfaces with the mixer.

Melissa, nope. I just ask the client to dial into the first spid. It connects them immediately. They can hear me, I can hear them, and they can hear playback.

Hi Melissa, I will answer. Yes, you have to have the Xstream (regular Zephyr doesn't do this) and you have to have it set on Auto In. You also have to be aware that you will only hear the client in one ear (unless you are doing something different with your headphone mix). And if someone dials your other SPiD....telemarketer etc, during your phone patch session, you will hear them in your other ear. I use earbud headphones with just one in during sessions....so it is not an issue. But I have had junk calls come in and connect before a session. When you ask them if they can send you over the script....they get a little confused. Laugh

You can even dial out on your Xtream to regular phone lines too. FYI.

I came back to add in the Auto In part, but see that Ben has beat me to it. I forgot I had it to that setting, and now remember why (b/c I've considered changing it back to the other setting b/c Auto In takes a minute before it "locks" when someone does dial via ISDN).

And, I never noticed that they're just in one ear, I guess b/c during phone patch and ISDN, I only wear my cans on one ear.

Thanks Ben!!
