It was cheap and I needed a stunt mic so it was a marriage made in heaven. Got a lovely shockmount for it too which cost around $35 ...BARGAIN!!!

I tested it and it works fine. The U87 is now back in situ while the stunt mic sits on a shelf. I may use the Neumann as my main mic and use the 416 for consonants.

If it's just a back up, then you pick up a cheap Rode for pennies on Ebay.

It is out of his line of sight and I've bought him and Bess 150 tennis balls as a distraction tactic.
