I just got my very first private lead from V123. I didn't audition for this.
It's from Renegade Radio in the UK. The person wants me to do a custom radio imaging demo. He gave me a few lines for the demo. He said, the job would involve 3 or 4, :30 or :45 spots per show. I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with Renegade Radio in the UK or has worked with them before. If so, is there anything I should know? Any feedback would be appreciated.
He also wants to know my rates. Are the rates in the UK comparable to rates in the US? What would be a fair rate to quote for UK radio spots like this? I don't want to scare him off if they are used to lower rates.
Thanks for any help you can give.

$25 per script would be about right but find out from where they broadcast. I think they are a "pirate station" in other words not authorised. The rate is the lowest from the UK rate card.

Thank You Philip. That was what I needed. I will go with the $25 per script
quote. He said 3 or 4 per show....but didn't specify how many shows....it could add up to 2 or 300 dollars. If I get the job. Thanks again.

I think this has been covered already, but just to underscore: be sure to watermark your audio to ensure they don't rip off your voice and produce and use it without your knowledge (I know--I have no faith in mankind). I put my demo audio in one track, and my full name in low low volume in a second track and mix down.
Congratulations--hope it all works for you.
Cheerio!

I don't bother auditioning much at all these days - but when I did, I watermarked. Sometimes I would use a doorbell type chime, sometimes one of the tones from a touch-tone phone. Not constant and continuous, just a little sound every few seconds and not so loud as to be obnoxious, just enough to render the track unusable as is, meaning they would have to contact me for the clean track if they chose to use it.
