Thanks. I love birds and I'm continually amazed at how smart they are.

How can you not love a bird that says "Peak a boo"?

Hey Chrissy, wanna Cockatiel? I have a rescued bird from a friend...he's cool but it's just too hard having a bird who wants to chirp and squeak all day in a small house when you're trying to record...he's worse than the kids - he has that sixth sense so he knows when the mic is on...that's when he starts whistling the loudest. oy.

DB Thanks

The whole animal kingdom is smarter than we think. We just haven’t until recently been smart enough to figure that out.

Very cute...

And yes, animals are so much smarter sometimes... I mean, we have four cats and I sometimes think they have telepathy, too. They don't work, they don't have to shovel snow; all they have to do is look cute, sleep, eat, and let the staff take care of them.

There are three feral cats that live on our property. One is the mother then an older kitten and a younger kitten. Mostly they hunt mice, but this winter I want to provide a place from them to get out of the few bitter cold days we have here in NC.

Also I want to provide nourishment from time to time to supplement their wild rodent diet. I don’t want them off their game. I like that they keep down the rodent population but I worry that the Coyote (damn them) will get them this winter.

All this concern from a man who is not cat crazy. Every thing has a place even the rodents if they stay out of our house.

Moe asked:

Hey Chrissy, wanna Cockatiel?

We have one Cockatiel, Liam McGregor, who as it turns out is a female. She is quiet while I record. However the tiny Zebra Finches talk when I talk so I have to cover them over with a blanket while I record. So I'm afraid I won't be able to help you out. You could try covering the bird up and see if she/he will take a nap. You could also contact a Vet near you and see if she/he can suggest a way to have the Cockatiel adopted.

That bird does not look real! I don't think I have ever seen such a smooth blue bird.
