I am heading out to a VO Workshop in FT Myers, FL this weekend. Randy Thomas and Peter Rofe are leading a two day program focusing commercials, narrations, promos, imaging and trailers. No noobs, just pros. Can't wait. I'll fill you in when I am finished.

I can't tell how great a weekend I had. Life changing, pretty much sums it up. The class with Randy Thomas and Peter Rofe turned in to a dream team of instructors when the engineer who was supposed to run the sessions had to back out, only to be replaced by the owner of the studio, Brian Lee.

And Anthony, you couldn't have been more correct as to Peter's coaching. The man knows how to interpret copy and can expalin how to do it easily. He would take a relative beginner and pull a pro performance out of them in 5-10 minutes.

Me, Brian Lee, Randy Thomas, and Peter Rofe.

Sounds like a great deal of fun but it looks like there was a rather formal dress code. Do all VO's wear black now?

How does one discover where and when are VO Classes/ training/offerings? Agent? Internet? Word-of-mouth? Self-discovery?

Perhaps you did not get the Official Voiceover notice. Yes all Voiceover Talent are required to wear at least 75 percent black now or otherwise face a $5,000 Fine for each offense . See my Avatar to the left. That is my picture that was taken immediately after I received my first fine for wearing all white. I quickly learned my lesson!!! Wink
