Like most people I keep half an eye on the finances but do no more than that. today is a quiet day, no work so far and this gave me time to take a closer look at the over-all-cash-in-the-mattress situation. My first thought was, ok I'm not skint and my second thought was that I didn't remember spending as much money as it appeared. I checked, I hadn't. Where's all the dosh gone? If it didn't go out then there must be another reason and that is ............... It ain't come in yet. I had no intention of doing a full analesssisis so I just checked one client. So far they owe me over $23,000. SEE! It isn't always my fault. Better in their bank account than mine as I'd only spend it on riotous living .........as usual! |

I'm sure a polite nudge would be in order. |

When I was in the Cable Advertising business, we sold some time to "Consolidators". They wanted 15% for them and 15% for the agency they were working for. We said ok. We reasoned that we weren't paying commission to our sales staff and after all our cost was low because this was found business. We loaded the spot into our system and ran it. We normally sold everything at Net to everybody.
After we ran it, we certified that we ran it we billed it and we expected the money to come in with in a reasonable time.
At 90 day I had a long chat with the Consolidator and we agreed that we were not running a bank. We also agreed that their business was not beneficial to us.
CASH flow is as important as having the account receivable on the books. Cash in the bank is far better than cash on the books. In our case the wife inherited bank stock so we put it in her bank.
Banks do you want me to collect for ya _________________ Esse quam videri "To be rather than to seem"

But just a small nudge. I know a guy in Slough that's quite handy with kitchen utensils. _________________ Dave "Christi" Felton
