How the heck do you print out an invoice for a customer noting that payment has been made? I've received payment and they'd like an invoice. When I print it out, I get the amount still due showing.

anyone?

Not sure if this will help, but in QuickBooks you can set your print settings to print a PAID" "stamp" on the invoice.
BUT
You have to have received the payment & logged in as such/deposited the amount into your QuickBooks software.

In other words the software needs to know that you were paid to mark the invoice as paid.

But that's QuickBooks....so don't know if that helps....

You can always print it out & mark it "PAID" in red Sharpie.
Seriously. Nothing wrong with that.

And if there was a seamless way to go from Money to Quickbooks, I'd be all over it. But alas, I'm stuck in the world of Microsoft Money. And when I say "print", I'm actually printing to Hobo LaughingF so I'm still in the digital world. I've tried the Sharpie method, but the wife gets annoyed by all the red marker on the screen.

Can you modify the invoice just for them? Basically enter an additional item as "Payment received CK#1234", put in a negative amount and send them the invoice for $0.00.

Of course from my accounting background I wonder why on Earth they'd want another invoice from you showing "paid" !!. They're supposed to do that on their end. The original invoice and their record of payment (bank statement and canceled check) should be plenty for their accountant or the IRS.

If they must have something in their hands that they can hold and adore, you could just send them a receipt on your letterhead.

I use Microsoft Money as well, but I always just stamp "PAID" on it and write the date. When you click on "Receive Payment For Invoice" and pay it out, it doesn't show up on the invoice?
