I walk through the front door to hear my phone ringing.
"Hello Philip Banks"
"Hi Philip, it's Colin here from ABC Creative. How are you?"
"Great thanks ....." We pass the time of day for less the the time taken up by an entire day.
"Philip, I have a TV commercial I need you to voice, are you free at 2.30?"
"No idea, let me look ....................Yep, fine!"
"Thanks. It's a 10 second for (80's new romantic band tour), will be broadcast on ....(insert station names) so it'll pay (insert ridiculously large amount of money). I'll email the script now and put all the details in the email, we'll dial you up and 2.30"
"Great, thanks. Talk to you at 2.30"
WHY OH WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON MAKING SUCH A SONG AND DANCE ABOUT THINGS???
I thought I handled a very difficult situtation extremely well. |

I know!!! They spent 7 minutes getting the read they wanted from me. Pah! Time wasters from beginning to end. |

Not very efficient for a 10-second spot. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

For a British TV 10 second commercial the audio is only 9 seconds so the degree of frittering is more than it at first appears as it was less to begin with than the more it could have been were it being broadcast elsewhere. |

"Sadly since it's only a ten, we had to leave the second 'Duran' out in the script. Hopefully no one will notice if you stutter the D a bit" _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
