A national TV spot I did (on camera) has been picked up for another year and I hear they ran the heck out of it on CNN today (I don't know where else, but it's probably running on a lot of cable channels). See if you can guess which one.
I'll see if I can lift it from my Tivo for future reference. By the way, I apoligize in advance for the hokey acting. They made me do it.

If I may ride your coattails a tad--my Gold Bond "Victory Over DeFeet" is all over the place all of a sudden, too!
Not on camera, so I'm not as cool as Bruce. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Hint one was hokey acting (not such a good one since there's a lot of that going on).
Hint two: feathers.

I've heard that a few times.

I switched to CNN yesterday on the chance they ran it over here, but all I got was an earful of Banksey. _________________ www.michaelrhys.com

speaking of that, i presume your agents (D and Bruce) take care of re-ups, unless of course you did the spot as a total buyout. curious how it originally went down, and how the re-up is handled. i'll be listening for that feather-hog-not eden spot, and the more obvious gold bond (which reminds me tremendously of old AM radio days. that and oreck) _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. My agent usually sends out renewal notices every 13 weeks, or at the end of a year-long buy, asking clients to pay again or state that they'll never use the spot(s) again. A fair percentage don't respond at all, but luckily for local work, I have friends and family that keep an ear or eye out for my spots and report when they hear something. I've caught many an agency re-running my stuff without paying. They pay when they're caught, but how many am I missing? Too many is my guess.
With the orange hog, feathers, not Eden spot, I saw it, called my agent, and miraculously, moments before she fired off an email, the client contacted her and said to bill it again.
Now with union stuff, especially national, they are supposed to keep track of it for you, but I've seen union offices in Phoenix and Atlanta miss things too often. I had a VO friend in Alabama catch a re-run of one of my Southern regional spots on a local NASCAR network broadcast. I would never have known.
The only saving grace regarding extended re-use of your voice is that most spots will sound pretty dated after a while.
