Dick Van Dyke's convincing Cockney accent in Mary Poppins

That has got to be one of the most excruciting things in 20th century non-pornographic cinema.

No one noticed as he was out shone by two actors, Alan Rickman and Morgan Freeman.

Talented though Patrick Stewart is, his attempt at Standard American falls flat in Conspiracy Theory.

<self indulgent off-topic aside>

I LOVED Alan Rickman in Robin Hood. "And cancel Chrrrrristmas". Swoon.

Morgan Freeman - heavy sigh. "I have fulfilled my vow". Double swoon.

Veering back to the topic, the voice project in question is to be Connery's last film ever, or so he asserts:

Little known fact. . .well. . .maybe not to Alan Rickman fans. . .He actually played a part in the movie Dogma with Affleck and Damon. . .I don't remember what part he played, but I know he was there.

Of course, now, you can see Mr. Rickman as the vile Sevirous Snape in the Harry Potter movies.

Another side note. . . Has anyone here listened to the book on CD versions of the Harry Potter series, read by Jim Dale? How about we have a your take on a few paragraphs of the Harry Potter series? Banksey? Whadda ya say?

Rickman played a "Metatron" (an angel of sorts) in Dogma, which made $30 million. Not a smash, but not entirely obscure...
