I can't be the only person still using the Sony MDR-7506 (or its consumer variation , the MDR V6).

Have been using them (SonyMDR-V6) for years, for location video and film sound and studio session sound. They are still my go cans. Also I have 1 pare of Fostex T-20, and 3 pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.

Don. Another 7506 believer here. I've been using Sony cans for close to 20 years. Rock solid, great sounding. My current set has been in daily use, back and forth to Boston and even in music recording sessions for about 5 years.
I can trust what I hear...although I don't like mixing on them,..or any headphone.

I also use the Sony MDR-7506 for monitoring when behind the mic. For mixing, I use my Event Project Studio 6 powered monitor speakers. However, after doing some research for a pal on a strict budget, I suggested she buy the Fostex T-20 - at $50-60, they are about half the price of the Sony MDR-7506.
