Doing a pick up for a job and forgot to shut the studio door.

Bugsy - or 16 year old cat - was hungry & decided to tell me so!

Feed me mom!

I hear ya, Bugsy! It doesn't seem to matter that a cat will happily spend the entire day snoozing UNTIL the mic is open.

I have to remember to keep the studio door closed at all times, because Waffles likes to chew on cords. Grrrrr Hiss. Do you have that problem too?

doesn't help, if they're determined.

my booth (and its solid wood door) is good enough i never did finish the threshhold of the doorframe. more than once a talent has let out a shriek in mid-sentence at the sight of a furry paw reaching in below.

Tilda waits until I'm in the middle of a read to sharpen her claws on my knee. That's her "you're ignoring the cat" reminder.

Oddly enough my cats seem trained, most of the time anyway, but when I start recording she (the one that makes the most noise) shuts right up till I stop. I dunno how it happened but I am not complaining.

Bugsy's usually pretty good, but I think he's getting cabin fever too and wants to go out in the yard!

@Donna: NO! Thank goodness...no chewing on cords here!

@Rowell: You made me LAFF!!!

In our house, the microphone is the BEST place one can rub up against! Particularly while mommy is recording something!

All of the above (and cat hair) are the reasons my cats are no longer allowed in my office or studio, yet they still let me know they are here by loudly ramming into the door as many times as possible.

My latest issue? My dog has discovered that non-stop barking gets me out of the studio. Even though the sound is incredibly muted- I can still hear it and it drives me nutty! I've been researching wonderfully humane solutions to this new problem.

My tiny Zebra Finch, Spike loves to sing, and if I start to talk or sing he chimes in also. If I stop he stops, and as many times as I start and stop he does also.

That's too cute, Liz!

Back home in Australia, there are these Indonesian geckos (more imported pests) that make this penetrating clicking noise. I was recording and one of the geckos had managed to get into the roof of my booth and started making that sound. Totally ruined a great take!!

I find forgetting to click the record button also ruins a good take.

You can't blame that on the cat, Connie.
