(in case you're just tuning in) I was there with Earworm Media, the brainchild of Rob Feldman who created Doctor Shroud and The Hyrde.
I loved it!! Dieter and I were there Friday and Saturday. We were passing out plastic vampire fangs to passers by and telling people about the cartoon. Exhausting!
But I did get to enjoy to the Convention! I spent too much money on graphic novels and got to demo the new Grand Theft Auto game, for which I got a t-shirt for Guitar Boy. I got Younger Bear a totally transparent Solid Snake figure — the stealth camo from Metal Gear 3. Trippy. Even the guns are clear.
I didn't see anything else of New York City and I didn't get to see Anthony Mendez OR Melissa Exelbreth. Jebus! The cell phone service in the place was shit, and Melissa and I were chasing each other all over the convention center. We finally spoke just as I was getting my car at the parking garage!
Man— Next time.
Now— here are pix.
Here's the DC Comics are— Friday morning 8:30 AM.
Gearing up. This is Rob.
Dieter with coffee on left. Rob's screenplay co-writer on the right and his niece in the middle.
I discovered that the crew of one of my absolutely mega fave online comics Least I Could Do was right next to us! I recognized my art hero, Lar, as he walked down the aisle from the caricature he drew of himself:
Here's the new GTA game display:
and people trying out the game— this is the very beginning of the professionals-only time— Friday morning was set aside for industry pros only. You can see that even among the "pros" there are plenty of geeks.
I thought this game had a really fabby graphic look.
Here's Scott Kurtz, who writes PVP, another way fave comic.
This is Danielle Corsetto, the author of Girls With Slingshots. I bought a book which she signed.
This is a guy who is dressed up like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII.
Dang— there were some spiffy costumes.
Lulu from Final Fantasy X.
Guile from Street Fighter (and the Joker)
Link from the Legend of Zelda:
Don't know who this guys was, but he was seriously fly:
Pencil Shin-chan.
Storm form the X-men.
Batgirl, posing for someone.
I actually like taking pictures of people taking pictures— here are a couple from the LICD guys doing photos with The Mighty Thor:
Here are Tycho and Gabe of Penny-Arcade.com and the massive queue of people waiting to get a signature on a book or poster.
Here's me with the guy who's the voice of Doctor Shroud.
The whole thing was great.
My feet are killing me.

So how was the response to the cartoon?
I'm so glad you had a great time and are back safely.

Thanks for the piccies. It was fun to have a look. I love doing the same thing when I go to the anime cons here. Aren't they great! It's always a long queue for us to get in, but it's all worth it once you're inside.

I was there all day Saturday and it was fun! Alas, I didn't do any interviews. The lovely Victoria had that job so I got to follow the crew around and watch the insanity. I have photos on MySpace and the link is:
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=21186363&albumId=3240210
If you can't see the pics from that link let me know. The good news is that I was interviewed about Project TERRA! Hopefully, it will bring us some publicity. Sorry I didn't have time to see anybody! _________________ Tom Dheere - The "H" is Silent, but I'm Not!

Deirdre, the "fly" guy in the red suit looks like the lead character "Alucard" from the popular anime series "Hellsing."
Thanks for the pics. I love going to cons.
I don't guess you happened to go to any of the panels that included voice talents? There were quite a few VAs in attendance -- here's a list copy/pasted from my Yahoo Group:
Venture Bros: Doc Hammer, Jackson Publick, Michael Sinterniklaas
Gargoyles: Marina Sirtis
Robot Chicken: Seth Green, Matt Senreich
The Secret Saturdays: Phil Morris
Other VAs in attendance:
Jamie McGonnigal
Neil Kaplan
Rachael Lillis
Tom Wayland
Veronica Taylor
Yuri Lowenthal
Carlos Ferro
There were also cast members involved in a panel presentation for BET's new animated series "Black Panther." _________________ Publisher: Voice Actors in the News
