Bailey I wondered about your computer's RAM limitations. I just upgraded my ancient 3 yo MBP with new RAM and hard drive. I wanted to put 4 G RAM in it but the manual says no more than 2 can be tolerated. Maybe check the manual and you can put another 512 chip in. It's worth checking into.

On another note, I went from a 100G hard drive to a 320G/7200 RPM drive and the old gal is running a bit hot with all the speed she's got now. Have to let her rest every so often and watch for leg burns! But no more spinning beach ball when I'm working on 2 different a Hobo Tounge

Update...

My daughter's boyfriend's uncle owns a computer shop. The boyfriend took me and the computer down there for a visit. The uncle said most of the problem was the Norton Virus program... it was using too much of the system resources. He suggested my better program called Panda... a deal for $30 I couldn't refuse. Norton got removed and the response time got better. He also cleared everything from the start-up menu.
... and that's when Bob (TheVoiceOfBob) came through. He found some memory that would fit my motherboard. They arrived in the mail yesterday... got installed... now it runs like a top! As they say on eBay... Bob, highly recommended, great service, fast delivery.

I love this place!
